Maongkaba, a senior Advocate and an accomplished politician, formally joined the Congress Party on Wednesday at a function held at Mokokchung District Congress Committee Office in the presence of the President, DCC and his colleagues.

The Mokokchung DCC informed that Moangkaba is the eldest son of Late Sentichuba of Mongsenyimti Village, who was a veteran politician with a long political career spanning from 1969-2008. During this period, Late Sentichuba had fought and won seven times and held many key portfolios as cabinet minister.

During his declaration after joining the Congress, Moangkaba said that he has full confidence of Congress doing well in the 2028 Assembly Election under the able leadership of S. Supongmeren Jamir, MP (Loksabha) & President, NPCC and Watimongba Aier President, Mokokchung DCC. He also assured the party leadership both at the state and the district his fullest support and cooperation and vowed to work without ceasing to strengthen the party at the ACC level immediately.

The press release also stated that Maongkaba had contested first time his first election in the 2023 General Assembly election on NPP Ticket but lost against Tongpang Ozukum, incumbent Minister of PDA government from 24th Angetyongpang A/C.
