Sensitization program conducted in Zunheboto to encourage women entrepreneurs

Zunheboto: DHEW encourages women to undertake training it provides

A one-day awareness and sensitization program on District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) was organised by District Administration and DHEW with Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH) on 12th August 2023 at SKK conference hall, Zunheboto, DIPR informed.

Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS in his speech said that in order to encourage women empowerment, the district administration, through DHEW, would be training 50 women for tailoring for one month and 50 more on next batch till everyone who enroll their names is trained and added that trainers will be brought from Kohima. He informed that starting this month, 30 girls will be trained to make paper bags.

Further, he added that his wife, Komal who is an ardent supporter of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao will be training interested women on how to make different snacks, fast food items etc. Additionally, DC Mali also said that they are planning to start electrician training for men in a few months.

He also enlightened STH about Chief Ministers Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI) where anyone who would like to start a business can avail loan and become an entrepreneur.

The DC’s address was followed by presentation on District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) by Kiyepu, GS DHEW who explained to the women folks about the various schemes in detail. He encouraged the women to be an entrepreneur by taking trainings which will be given by DHEW and after training if needed one can avail loan from CMMFI scheme. Kiyepu added that in the district, most entrepreneurs are men and so encouraged the women folks to come forward and become a successful entrepreneur.

Earlier the programme was chaired Viveni, GS, DHEW while welcome address was delivered by EAC Zunheboto, Viketoulie Metha, NCS.
