EAC Shamator, Mekato J. Aye, addressed the valedictory programme of participants who completed skill training in masonry, plumbing, tiling and electrical trades, congratulating the 200 trainees and the partnering agencies AISTEC and Rhümoru Society for successful completion of the month-long programme on February 19.
In his address, Aye emphasised that the trainees must now build strong professional networks among themselves, understand the basic circulation of money within the local economy, and contribute to strengthening the district economy and eventually the economy of Nagaland. He stated that the skills imparted are a precursor to the many developmental activities expected in the region in the coming years.

He reminded the participants that the training was not merely about distribution of machinery or tools but about becoming active contributors as certified skilled workers. Encouraging them to apply both practical skill and thoughtful planning, he noted that the future belongs to those who use both their hands and their minds.
The EAC also urged the trainees to motivate youths and parents in their respective villages to enrol in skill training programmes, stating that the District Administration Shamator aims to create a pool of 3,000 skilled labourers. He highlighted those 200 participants out of which 50 were women had registered in the current session.
Distribution of basic toolkits to the trained participants was also carried out during the programme.
