The Shamator District Football Association organised trials for aspiring footballers to represent the district in the forthcoming Nagaland Olympic Games 2024. According to DIPR, 33 youths from Thsurongto Circle, Chessore Circle, Mangko Circle, Shamator Circle, and Sotokur Circle participated in the selection trials held at the Public Ground, Shamator.

Shahoto Naga, the President of SDFA, expressed gratitude to Olando Yimkhiung, the team captain, for his unwavering dedication to the development of football in Shamator. He also extended thanks to all SDFA officials, including AM Showuba, Achim Yaksokiu, Hanfu, Solumba, and Among P, for their timely efforts that contributed to the successful team selection.

The Nagaland Olympic Games 2024 is scheduled to take place from 12 to 17 February 2024.
