Shamator based organizations have sought the attention of the state department of power to address certain issues at Shamator district headquarter for smooth power supply and related services.
In a joint representation to the department’s Engineer-in-Chief submitted through the Deputy Commissioner Shamator, the Shamator Town Public Forum (STPF), Shamator Town Students’ Union (STSU) and 11 Ward Union Shamator Town have highlighted the electricity-related requirements of the district stating that Shamator being the district headquarter and the lone power transmission point supply, the general populace were facing immense trouble and power supply was cut-off completely in many villages.
The organizations sought immediate replacement of the 33kv transformer at power transmission centre at Shamator which was damaged on May 3; provision of digital marker machine for immediate checking of current supply at different supply points for immediate restoration during emergencies and damage of power supply at different points; immediate upgradation of Sub Divisional Officer (Power) office at Shamator from Junior Engineer Division for smooth functioning of power supply within the district; to provide pool vehicle for smooth functioning of department emergencies and power supply; and immediate construction of staff duty room at the 33kv station including all the required materials/equipment at the station to ensure smooth services.
