Nagaland observed the final day of Shiksha Saptah (Education Week) on Saturday by observing ECO Clubs for Mission LiFE, Community Participation, and Tithi Bhojan in schools and Education offices all over the state, informed a press release from the Communications Team Nagaland Education Project – The Lighthouse (NECTAR).
The day’s event began with social work and plantation of fruit trees by students with their mothers, teachers, and Education officials. Students created eco-friendly waste bins with bamboo, awareness programmes on environment conservation were organised, and School Management/Development Committee (SMC/SMDC) meetings were held to create awareness on the National Education Policy 2020.

In the State capital, School Education officials conducted social work at the Directorate of School Education and cleaned the office premises in the morning hours; they also planted trees and flowers around the office.
Kevileno Angami (IES), Commissioner and Secretary School Education & SCERT; Temsunaro Aier, (IAS) Commissioner & Secretary IPR and State Mission Director Samagra Shiksha; Thavaseelan K, (IAS) Principal Director, Directorate of School Education sponsored lunch for GMS New Secretariat Area, GHS Forest Colony, and GMS (CwSN) Lerie in Kohima, respectively. They served food to students and partook of the meal as part of Tithi Bhojan.
Shiksha Saptah in Nagaland was well participated by government, private, and central schools from July 22-27, 2024. The Department appreciates all the teachers, administrators, and SMC/SMDC members for their support and participation in making the week-long event a success.
