Shillong’s Kingsmen emerges champion of 2nd 3×3 Open Basketball Tournament

Kohima: Keneilezo James from Team ORCA-B bags Most Valuable Player (MVP) award

Kingsmen team from Shillong Meghalaya emerged champions of the 2nd edition of 3×3 Open Basketball Tournament yesterday after defeating ORCA-B at Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima and walked home with a cash prize of Rs. 25000 along with certificates.

Organized by Project Zero in partnership with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), 13 teams participated this year and teams from neighbouring state Meghalaya also took part in the tournament, stated a press release from Project Zero.

The runners up, ORCA-B recieved Rs. 15,000 along with certificates. The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award was bagged by Keneilezo James from Team ORCA-B.

 

Angami Students’ Union President, Khriesamhalie David Mere who was the guest encouraged and motivated the players to play the game they love with discipline, consistency, and sportsmanship.

Mhasizokho Keretsu, Pastor grace the invocation blessings and the programme were chaired by Keyongosa Yore.
