Temjen Imna Along, the Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, inaugurated the Central Plaza Carnival and the Central Plaza Shopping Mall at Kohima on 28 November 2024. These facilities are located on the Multi-Level Parking building at P.R. Hill, Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion as the Special Guest, the Minister encouraged people to dream with a plan, an idea, and determination to expand. He also emphasized the need for the youth to know that success of a business requires commitment, passion, patience and dedication.
“Why do people often view the government with negativity?” he questioned and further said that to overcome such mentality, one must adopt consistent work ethic and focus on progress. Expressing concern over the reluctance of literate Nagas to engage in hard work, Temjen Imna Along encouraged young entrepreneurs to lead by example.
Further, he commended Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for setting an example by introducing new technologies and establishing initiatives like the State Innovation Hub to meet the state’s evolving needs. The Minister also pointed out that Nagaland is the only state in India with a dedicated music department, showcasing its forward-thinking approach.
On the significance of the Hornbill Festival, Along said that the annual event is more than just a celebration but also an opportunity to build cohesive relationships and showcase local skills on a global platform. The Minister stressed on networking as the key to creating a prosperous State as it opens up opportunities.
Earlier, the opening ceremony began with a Welcome Address by Medoze-U Rio, Chairman of the Management Board, Central Plaza, followed by an Invocation Prayer led by Pastor Thinuohelie Sachü, Associate Pastor, BRC, Kohima.
A brief yet inspiring Speech was delivered by Rhovelü Soho, Proprietor of Rhö.Lè Enterprise, who was recognized as a recipient of the Women Leaders in Skill Development Award.
The audience was enthralled by a Special Song performed by Nourhengunuo Zatsu.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Khrietuo Yhome, Secretary of the Management Board, Central Plaza.
