In a very disturbing news, six persons have been arrested in Chümoukedima for the death of a 20-year-old resident of Bokajan, Assam. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO, Dimapur informed in a press release on Tuesday that the deceased was declared “brought Dead” by District Hospital Dimapur.

The police said that upon receiving information that a person, accused of theft, had been detained by the youth of Ward no.11 at the Chümoukedima Panchayat Hall, the law enforcing personnel hurried to the spot where they found the youth in an “unconscious state”. The youth was rushed to District Hospital Dimapur for medical treatment where he was declared brought dead.

Dimapur Police further informed that the six persons accused of the unwarranted and unlawful action in Chümoukedima were in custody and a case had been registered under relevant sections of the law and that investigation was going on.
