Skill Training and Awareness program held in Wokha

Under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM), the Wokha District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) successfully conducted a Skill Training Programme and Awareness Session for Self Help Groups (SHGs) on 29th November 2024.

ADC and Chairman of DUDA, Wokha, Renbomo Ezung delivered an insightful speech outlining the objectives of DUDA, emphasizing effective marketing techniques to streamline SHG products to external markets as well as strategies to optimize market chains for progressive growth.

CDPO ICDS, Wokha, Erenbeni Kikon highlighted the science of nutrition, it’s impact on health, and the essential components of a balanced diet for achieving a long, healthy, and sustainable life.

Thungbeni Kikon, Caseworker (Legal) at Sakhi One Stop Centre, addressed gender-based violence, reflecting on the rights and responsibilities of all genders in society. She also outlined the key objectives of the Sakhi One Stop Centre in promoting legal awareness and providing judicial safeguards against various challenges faced by women in contemporary society.

The second session featured hands-on skill training in pickle making, processing and marketing. The event was well attended by officials from associated departments and trainees from the Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
