Solution will come if Nagas go back to ‘original’ sovereignty demand: MLA Azo Neinu at 14th NLA

Kohima: Nienu blamed GoI for emergence of 24 Naga underground factions, alleges it of trying to divide Nagas

MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu on Tuesday propounded the idea to go back to the original demand of “sovereignty” for the Nagas. “If we ask for solution, package, nothing will happen we should go back to our original stand stick at sovereignty then I think solution will come about,” said Nienu.

MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu, said this while participating in the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’ Address on the second day of the 4th Session to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

Nienu reminded the house the sacrifices made by the forefathers for Naga sovereignty and said, “we must introspect and retrospect how our forefathers gave up their lives and for what reason. We must not forget the sacrifices of our forefathers, our forefathers never laid down their lives for Framework Agreement nor Agreed Position, nor settlement or solution or an economic package. They laid down their lives for sovereignty.”

Recollecting the emergence of Indo Naga Political problem and the current scenario, Nienu stated that there are currently 24 underground factions and the Government of India is to be blamed for. He also alleged that the GoI is trying to divide the Nagas.

“Today, the GoI is trying to part Naga brothers, long back they have parted us with imaginary boundary lines. They want to part Nagas of Nagaland also by playing hide and seek games by offering this and that to our ENPO brothers,” he added.

Nienu also called upon all the Legislators to have a threadbare discussion on Naga Political issue in the next session.
