Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, urged the Ongpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM) to establish a mission and vision statement, refocusing on their core objectives of politics, religion, and education to realize the theme of their general conference, “Nüchiba Shisaluyim” (Liberated Education).
The Longkumer was speaking as the Special Guest of the inaugural program of the 39th OKM General Conference that was held in Kubza village, approximately 15 kilometers from Mokokchung Town on Wednesday.
Longkumer emphasized the unchanging aspects of a progressive world, highlighting the importance of a merciful father and the inevitability of change. He encouraged the student community to assess their current status, understand their rights, and prepare a visionary mission for the next 15 years with determination.
Highlighting Ongpangkong’s significant representation—around 40 per cent of Mokokchung’s population as per the 2011 census and 35 per cent of the votes—Longkumer stressed the responsibility of setting a mission and vision statement based on factual information and collective aspirations.
Around five hundred delegates are attending the OKM General Conference at Kubza village.
