Specialized Health Camp on anemia screening held at Pungro CHC

A Specialized Health Camp on anemia screening was successfully conducted on April 6 at Pungro CHC under Kiphire District, Nagaland. The programme was organized by Nature SBI Foundation Nagaland under its SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels initiative.

The camp provided various medical services including anemia screening, general health check-up, diabetes check, doctor consultation, and laboratory tests. The lab tests included ABO grouping, HIV/SYP, HB, RBS, Scrub Typhus, and Malaria screening.

The medical team was led by Dr Siku from Pungro CHC and Dr Lillio from Nature SBI Foundation, along with nurses and technicians who ensured proper care and consultation for all patients.

A total of 132 beneficiaries attended the camp, out of which 17 individuals underwent laboratory tests, including RBS, malaria parasite (MP), and scrub typhus screening.

Speaking on the occasion, Longtili C Sangtam, Project Lead of Nature SBI Foundation Nagaland, expressed gratitude to Dr Siku and the team from Pungro CHC for their support. He also thanked the International Border Area People’s Welfare Organisation (IBAPWO), led by N Apong, for their efforts in mobilizing the community and extending support to make the programme successful. He added that such initiatives are bringing real benefits to the people.

Highlighting the progress of the project, he stated that during the month of March, a total of 160 lab tests were conducted, including ABO, RBS, scrub typhus, malaria, Widal, and HB tests. Additionally, 115 MOPD cases were recorded, with a total of 1,416 beneficiaries served. The team also conducted 2 awareness camps, 1 sanitation drive, and 1 specialist health camp.

N Apong, Chief Functionary of IBAPWO, also shared that in collaboration with Nature SBI Foundation, a free medical camp was organized at Pungro CHC. He stated that the doctors and medical team thoroughly examined patients and provided free medicines, ensuring that quality healthcare reached the people in the area.

The programme reflects a continued effort to strengthen healthcare access in remote regions and support the well-being of the community.
