The State Cabinet has decided to request the Central Government to continue the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and also to enact appropriate regulations and lay down processes for movement of people across the borders in close consultation with the people inhabiting the border areas of the State.
A press release issued by the Home Department, Government of Nagaland, stated that the State Cabinet in its meeting held on February 8 deliberated on the proposal of MHA for fencing on Indo-Myanmar border in Nagaland and the recent reports being received on matters concerning the FMR.

“The Cabinet has further decided to request for also suitably bringing in the village council authorities concerned in the entire system of regulations of the FMR,” stated the notification.
