The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) yesterday issued a press communique appealing the Nagaland Government to send its comment regarding the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT) on or before October 31.

A coordination and consultative meeting of the Frontal and Tribal Organisations was held on October 11 in Mon Town where the house unanimously resolved to request the State Government to send its comment within the specified deadline.

It may be noted that, the ENPO had earlier submitted a request letter to the Chief Minister of Nagaland on August 23, 2024 and a follow-up reminder note on the same matter was intimated on September 14, 2024 to send its comment as expected by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), GOI.

“Further, it may be recalled that, on the 18th of December, 2023, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah had handed over the “Highlight of the draft MoS with ENPO on FNT” to the state Government for its comment at the earliest. However, the Issue is being stalemated till date for reason best known to the state government. The ENPO once again reminds our Chief Minister to consider the need of the Eastern Nagas in its quest to fulfil its long-cherished aspiration,” mentioned the statement issued by the Press & Media cell, ENPO.

The House resolved to convene the Central Executive Council Meeting (CEC) meeting on November 1, 2024 where further course of action on the matter shall be deliberated.
