Two-day State Level Pre-Subroto Tournament 2025 (Under15 Boys and Under 17 Girls) got underway on Monday at the Indira Gandhi (IG) Stadium Kohima.
Nagaland Football Association (NFA) president and executive member All India Football Federation (AIFF) K Neibou Sekhose graced the inaugural function as the special guest. Sekhose appreciated the Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) department for scouting from the district level giving opportunity to all the players and collaborating with NFA, giving privilege to the association to be a part of the grassroots level and meaningful tournament. He encouraged the young footballers to believe in themselves and their abilities.
“Every great player starts somewhere. Keep working hard… Enjoy the game; learn from mistakes. and have fun. Your dedication and passion will take you far,” Sekhose stated.

The State Level Pre-Subroto Tournament is being played among the winners of the Inter-School Pre-Subroto Cup Cluster- 1 and Cluster-2 Football Tournaments’ winners in U-17 Girls and U-15 Boys categories that were played at Chümoukedima and Kohima. The winners of the state level tourney will represent Nagaland in the 64th edition of the national Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2025.
