State level Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating 2025-26 felicitation programme held

The Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26 State Level felicitation programme, was held on February 3 at the Morung Conference Hall, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, Kohima. According to a press release the program was organised in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.

The felicitation programme was organized to honour the top 20 schools with certificates in recognition of their excellence in hygiene and sanitation.

The schools awarded under SHVR are:

-Government Primary school, Moalenden
-Government middle school, Ghukiye
-Rainbow academy
-Government middle school, Orangkong
-Government Primary school, Zhadi Kimho
-Government middle school Ahthibung
-Assam Rifles Public School
-Government Middle School, Senkalemba
-Government Middle School Peren Town
-Kendriya Vidyalaya Tuli
-Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Pfutsero
-DMI St. Joseph Global School
-Government High School Yachem
-Livingstone Foundation International
-Langsa Hill school, Lampong Sheanghah
-Don Bosco Higher Sec. School
-Assam Rifle School, Naginimora
-Woodland School
-Government High School Midland

Special guest Mhathung Tungoe, Secretary, Department of School Education and SCERT, in his speech, highlighted on the inception of the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26 which was launched on July 29, 2025 by the Education Minister on the occasion of the celebration of the 5th year of NEP 2020 at Akhil Bhartiya Shikha Samagam (ABSS) 2025 at Bharat Mandapan, New Delhi. The SHVR 2025-26 initiative is a revitalised, expanded and universal version of the earlier Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP). The initiative promotes behavioural transformation, environmental sustainability and climate resilience in school education through a structured institutional parameter aligned with the NEP 2020 and India’s vision for a clean, green and inclusive school environment.

SHVR 2025-26 was designed as a mandatory programme for all schools having UDISE code across the country, including Government, Government aided, private, residential, tribal, minority, centrally run schools (eg: KVS, NVS) and CBSE affiliated schools.

The programme empowers schools to self-assess and improve across 6 key categories-water, toilet, hand-washing with soap, operation and maintenance, behaviour change & capacity building and Mission life activities (or the Eco club).

The total number of schools which participated in SHVR 2025-25 were 2553 schools (Government, Government aided, private, residential, tribal, minority, centrally run schools (eg: KVs, NVS) and CBSE affiliated schools.

Out of the total 2553, 51 schools qualified for the District Level; 20 schools qualified for the State Level; 10 schools from category-l and 10 schools from category-ll (seven schools from rural and three schools from urban each) while five school were nominated for the National Level.

During the event, Principal Director Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS delivered the keynote address. The program was blessed with invocation by Mary Neilhouvonuo, Joint Director while the GHS Midland, Kohima presented a special number. Meanwhile,Rüyosüyi Khüsoh Additional Director pronounced the vote of thanks.

The top five schools nominated for national level are: Kendriya Vidyalaya Tuli, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Phek, Pfutsero, Assam Rifle School Naginimora, DMI St.Joseph Global School , Government High school Yachem, according to the press release.
