State Stadium Dimapur to finally host a major event

Dimapur: Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) will be organising the 14th Open Naga Wrestling Championship and 1st Belt Wrestling Championship at State Stadium, Dimapur from 17 to 18th March.

The State Stadium in Dimapur, which has been in social media and media highlight for quite some time, is finally set to host a major sports event.

Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) will be organising the 14th Open Naga Wrestling Championship and 1st Belt Wrestling Championship at State Stadium, Dimapur from 17 to 18th March.

Belt wrestling competition will be held on the first day, while the open Naga wrestling will be held on the second day.

There are a total of 11 categories for belt wrestling, seven for men – 49 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 76 kg, 85 kg and 100 plus kg. Meanwhile, there are four categories for women – 49 kg, 50 kg, 53 kg and 63 kg.

The event is expected to have a full capacity audience.

With an aim to promote and encourage Naga wrestling, the venue has been shifted to Dimapur this time.

Belt wrestling is being introduced for the first time to encourage other Naga tribes to come and participate.

The NWA is also providing Pay Per View at mytvshows.in for INR 500 (one day) and INR 800 (two day).
