A local taxi bearing registration number NL01T-A0183, which was stolen at gunpoint by three unidentified miscreants on July 21 between Viswema and Kedima villages, was recovered on July 23 from Senapati district in Manipur.

According to the taxi owner, Atuolie, the vehicle was found abandoned near a public toilet below the Senapati Police Station. The information was relayed to the victim (the taxi driver) by a friend who happened to be in Senapati at the time. OC North, Chumbemo, informed that the police had monitored the area in Senapati on July 24 using decoy methods. However, since no suspicious individuals came forward to claim the abandoned taxi, it was recovered and handed over to the owner. The OC further added that an investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the culprits.
