A Program was organised on Story Telling Day by District Culture Office, Department of Art & Culture Kiphire on Tuesday at Agape Higher Secondary School, Kiphire.
P Lipichem the school proprietor extended his sincere appreciation to the department of Art & Culture Kiphire for encouraging story telling and book reading which are essential elements in building and shaping human minds for greatness and humility at the same time.
“Sharpen your minds by reading books, learn to cultivate the good habits for all great leaders are known to be a keen reader and book lovers”, he said.
Vilila S Thonger, Asst. Research Officer thanked the school administration for willingly accepting the invitation to organise the program with the students. Thonger encouraged the students to be a book lover not just of academics but also novels, fictions and dramas etc which will enhance them to learn the world at wider perspective eventually opening their minds towards the larger picture of the world.
Students of class 11 actively participated in the story telling competition wherein students from diverse community narrated folklores of their rich community at the program.
Meanwhile the department handed over several books for students’ library. Prizes were were also distributed to the winners of Storytelling competition to furthermore encourage them to cultivate reading habits in their daily life.
