The 2nd Edition of the All Nagaland Folk Song and Folk Fusion competition took place on December 16 at Khuzama playground, following the theme “Strings of the past, Melody of the future.” This event was organized by Kekhrie Krotho in collaboration with TaFMA.
During the event, Special guest Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, MLA, highlighted the progress of TaFMA and the increasing number of people making a career and livelihood from music. He emphasized that while advanced countries have made progress in many fields, Nagaland excels in folk songs and fusions, presenting an opportunity for earning a livelihood. Dr. Rhütso also mentioned the importance of transitioning to educated farmers, while providing platforms for local entrepreneurs and farmers to showcase their agricultural products, supporting the local economy. He also stressed the need to work towards eradicating tribalism and promoting a more unified Nagaland.
Expressing optimism that the evening’s events would cultivate greater unity among the tribes, the MLA underscored the importance of preserving our cultural identity and heritage, stating that without it, we are nobody.
