Students’ Union Saksi appeals for urgent repair of NH 202 in Tuensang

Tuensang: Absence of footpaths causing untold hardships

In view of the difficulties being faced by students due to the deplorable condition of the National Highway 202 stretch in Tuensang Town, the Chang Students’ Union, Saksi, Tuensang has demamded for the immediate repair of the road which is presently in its worst because of the heavy rainfall.

In a letter to the Executive Engineer, PWD (NH), Tuensang, the student body highlighted that the stretch of the Highway from Tuensang Clock Tower to Saksi NAP which is around 6 kms is “suboptimal, posing challenges for the students who commute daily to pursue their education.” CSU President Sanglekhamba and General Secretary Thungpang Yanchu also mentioned that the absence of footpaths on the road is particularly causing untold hardships.

Pointing out that no major repairing has been made on the road in the past couple of years, CSU Saksi added that the deplorable condition of the road is a threat to the safety and well being of the students as well as general public.

The officials of the Chang Students’ Union, Saksi, had recently filled up potholes from main Gate, Saksi to Sao Chang College.
