A one day study tour cum exposure trip to Kohima for girl students of Wokha town under BBBP was flagged off today, April 10 at the Deputy Commissioner Office premises. The tour was organised by Wokha District Administration and District SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women, Wokha, informed DIPR.
Speaking to the students during the short programme held at DC conference hall, DWO, Wokha James Ezung, said the tour programme was possible because of BBBP scheme which focused mainly for girl child. He enlightened them to take this exposure trip as an opportunity to learn new things. He urged them to carry forward the lessons learned during this trip and let them inspire to dream big and set goals for a brighter future.

Sr. SDEO, Wokha Minthunglo Ngullie, who also spoke to the students remarked that girls carry the torch of empowerment, resilience and strength. She expressed her optimism that through this trip they will be able to showcase their capabilities, potentials and come back as torch bearer of change ready to inspire, empower and ready to uplift every girl child they come across.
23 girl students from 17 schools, (five from GHSS and 12 from private schools) under Wokha are undertaking the study tour and exposure trip. The students will be visiting Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing Centre, NIELIT and State Hub for Empowerment of Women.
