A suicide prevention awareness program was successfully conducted at Holy Cross High School and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kiphire, as part of World Suicide Prevention Week observed from September 10 to 16.
Psychiatric nurse Keneisanuo Kechu and psychiatric social worker Khamtsaba from District Mental Health Program, Kiphire were the resource persons who led sessions on the importance of self-care, building self-esteem, social connections, emotional well-being and seeking professional help.
The sessions helped in instilling a sense of responsibility in the school community to work together in preventing suicide and promoting well-being.
