Zunheboto: SLB to appoint regular MIL teachers and assume responsibility for their salaries

The Sümi Hoho has decided to introduce “Sütsa”, a Sümi dialect, as a Modern Indian Language (MIL) in all Higher Secondary Schools across Sümi-inhabited areas of Nagaland.

This was decided during its Executive Meeting held on 27th March 2024 at Sümi Hoho Ki, Zunheboto. At the meeting, the House deliberated on the inclusion of “Sütsa” as MIL as proposed by Sümi Literature Board (SLB), the apex Sümi tribal body informed. Subsequently, the house unanimously decided to adopt the resolution to include the dialect.

Further, it was decided that the Sümi Literature Board (SLB) will appoint regular MIL teachers and assume responsibility for their salaries until the Government of Nagaland appoints regular MIL teachers.
