President Sumi Literature Board, Vehoshe Murru speaking at the monthly Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board meeting highlighted on the need for a public library in Zunheboto town.
During the meeting held on 10 November at the DC’s Conference Hall, Zunheboto, Murru said the Sumi Literature Board will be celebrating its 75th Platinum Jubilee in December 2022 and that the board is planning to set up a public library and sought approval and help from the board members.
The board decided that this was a noble project and that further discussions with the appropriate committee will be carried out for approval.
Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali chaired the meeting during which the agenda on the Veterinary Health Centre at Ghukiye village was also discussed.
The Chief Veterinary Officer, Zunheboto, sought the approval of the board for setting up a Veterinary Health Centre at Ghukiye village; an essential for the villages in the area.
The Veterinary Officer said the village for the proposed health center was ready to donate land without any preconditions where the board unanimously decided to approve for setting up the Veterinary Health Centre.
Furthermore, DAPCU NSACS reported that there were no cases of discrimination against HIV/AIDS patients in the district. Advocate Esther, Legal Services Authority gave a brief presentation on the legal aspects of stigma and discrimination.
PHED department also presented a PowerPoint presentation on the ongoing Jal Jeevan Scheme in the district where they highlight the completed projects and the ongoing projects.
District Sports Officer, Atoli gave a PowerPoint presentation on the objectives, activities, and needs of the department.
She highlighted the recent achievements and activities of the athletes of the district during the recently concluded Nagaland Olympics and Paralympic and thanked the various departments who rendered help to the athletes and the District Sports Council Zunheboto during the event.
Vice President Sumi Hoho, Hokishe briefed the house on the preparations for the coming Ahuna Cum Mini Hornbill celebration which is going to be held from 12 to 14 November 2022, and sought cooperation and active participation from all the departments.
The meeting concluded with thanks from the chair and assigned Skill Development, Sakhi One Stop Centre, and PWD R&B National Highways for PowerPoint presentations in the next meeting.
