The Sümi Patriots Day was observed on Friday honouring the late General Kaito Sukhai at Kughato Sukhai and General Kaito Sukhai Memorial Statues in Satakha Town. The event was organized by the Sümi Hoho, and saw the participation of leaders from various Sümi frontal organizations as well as members of the general public.
The Guest Speaker, Dr Hokishe Yepthomi, Former President of the Sümi Hoho, spoke about the Sümis’ involvement in the Naga freedom struggle, highlighting the historical significance of their contribution. He expressed optimism that the aspirations of the Naga people will eventually be realized.

The program was chaired by Zhevihe Sumi, Vice President of the Sümi Hoho. Additionally, speeches were delivered by Nikheto Jimomi, President of the Sümi Hoho, Kashito Yepthomi, President of the Sümi Kükami Hoho, Viholi Zhimomi, General Secretary of the Sümi Totimi Hoho, and Ngukato Aye, President of the Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu. Rev. Hukugha Zhimomi, Senior Pastor of Satakha Town Baptist Church, prayed for the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Naga freedom struggle.
The invocation and benediction prayers were offered by Rev. Honito Chophi, Pastor of Union Baptist Church Satakha, and Anato Chishi, Pastor of Satakha Town Baptist Church, respectively. Elli Zhimomi presented a special song that added a touch of reverence to the occasion.
