Lok Sabha MP and President of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), S Supongmeren Jamir today launched a campaign themed “Say No to Drugs”, organized by the Jawahar Bal Manch (JBM), NPCC. The initiative aims to spread awareness about drug abuse among children and youth through creative activities such as art, speech, and other competitions.

Addressing the gathering, Supongmeren said that the program reflects the vision of Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition. He noted that despite numerous challenges, JBM Nagaland is steadily gaining ground at the grassroots level. Emphasizing the role of youth, he stated that society will only be as productive and progressive as its young generation is active and engaged.

He concluded by commending JBM Nagaland for successfully organizing the event and for implementing several positive initiatives within a short period.

In his remarks, K Naresh Kumar, National Co-ordinator and Chief In-charge of the mission, stated that the campaign seeks to educate children about the country, the values enshrined in the Constitution, and the importance of life itself. He added that this movement is the dream of Rahul Gandhi, and JBM is working tirelessly to make it a reality.

Khriedi Theunuo, Working President of NPCC, highlighted the gravity of the drug issue. He said drug abuse severely impacts youth, damaging both physical and mental health, draining the economy, and burdening societies with socially challenging repercussions. He stressed that the solution lies not in blame games but in collective efforts.

He further noted that Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram have been badly affected by this epidemic, and while complete eradication may not be possible, it can certainly be contained and minimized through united action.

Kaqheto Kughutu, State Chief Co-ordinator of JBM NPCC, termed the campaign as both timely and essential. He underscored that the fight against drugs must be collective, consistent, and sustained to safeguard the younger generation from this destructive malady.
