Lok Sabha Member of Parliament and Chairperson of District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA), S Supongmeren Jamir today encouraged the members of DISHA Phek to come forward with any challenges faced by the concerned departments to find solution for successful implementation of the developmental projects sanctioned by the Central government.
Addressing the DISHA meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Phek, Jamir informed that the main objective of DISHA committee is to take up the developmental activities of CSS smoothly through coordination and support from all concerned authorities including Village Councils and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
He asserted that developmental works in the villages have to be taken care and supported by the Village Councils and CSOs.
According to a DIPR report, Jamir asked the concerned developmental departments having CSS schemes for completion of developmental schemes/works on stipulated period, so that more new projects/schemes would be able to upload/submit to the government for further development in the district. He also informed on the importance of Labour Card which was deliberated by the District Labour Officer during the meeting, informing that the department has registered 700 plus Labour Cards in the district.

The MP further informed the members about the system of schemes selection for construction of village connectivity road under PMGSY scheme in Phek district. In this regard, he stated that those schemes should be rooted through the concerned MLAs of the district.
The Department of RD, DRDA, PHED and Food & Civil Supplies highlighted various on-going development schemes through PowerPoint presentation at the meeting. Detail interactions on the schemes such as JJM under PHED, PMAY-G under RD Department, Food grain allocation and status of Ration-card under Food & Civil Supplies department were highlighted by the concerned department officers.
Concerning “Clean and Green Nagaland” under the MPLADS 2025-26, Jamir suggested plantation of ornamental trees within the residential areas and office compounds to maintain healthy environment, then the House resolved to plant a tree each by the members of DISHA committee and officers.
The MP accompanied by DC and SP, Phek also inspected the on-going construction of hostel building under “Nagaland Education Project- Light House (NECTAR)”, where site Engineer incharged of the construction was asked to speed up the progress of the works for early completion of the building.
