The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Noklak Region held its Consultative Meeting with TN Mannen, Advisor Law & Justice , Land Revenue Government of Nagaland and other political party workers on January 17 at Jungyam Fishery Farm Guest House Noklak.
Addressing the gathering, Advisor Mannen said that his visit is to share the aspirations and expectations of the people, adding that Noklak holds a special place to him. With the parliamentary elections around the corner and with an oppositionless government, Mannen urged the gathering to accept Rio Government. Stating that every Constituency has its own challenges, the Advisor reminded that the constituencies of 56 and 57 AC has no Ministers, and therefore urged for unity to address the issue with the guidance of the Government. He called for a ‘Realistic Strategy’ for collective solution. On a brief note on the ENPO issue, Mannen asserted that Nagas as a whole is a small community so while pursuing the policy, one need not forget that he / she is a Naga, to which he said that, he is a part of it. The advisor also stressed on the handicrafts of Noklak which is the finest, and emphasised on the need to protect the originality of the indigenous handicrafts. The importance of culture, handicrafts, and handloom was highlighted, where Mannen urged the gathering to take positive action in preserving it. The importance of a society is considered from economic developmental activities, viewed Mannen.

With Noklak bordering Myanmar and a trade Center in place, Mannen highlighted the geographic value of the frontier district.
He extended his concern over the Party office and assured the gathering of support and a concerted effort in the process.

The NDPP Consultative meeting also addressed on the matter of setting up one NDPP Party Office in Noklak region which is a necessity.
Speaking to media persons, Advisor Mannen expressed concern over the unemployment issues. He was of the view that it is wrong to expect readymade schemes from the government, but citizens must show initiative and ability.
On the matter of suspension of the FMR along Indo Myanmar Border, Mannen said that it is a controversial political issue which needs to be addressed in vigilant way. With Nagas across the borders, Mannen said, that the suspension should be opposed.

Earlier, the event was chaired by C.Pushou President Agri & Allied and invocation by NL Pusha. The welcome address was delivered by P.Pheem Shiu President Noklak Region and the exhortation was given by Shingnyo V/P NDPP Nagaland & Noklak Region I/C, S.Heno Former MLA,CEC 57 Thonoknyu A/C, Tali President AGR I & Allied, President CYO, General Secretary NDPP Mkg Region.
