As a part of the ongoing Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Campaign, the District Election Office Tuensang organized Two-Day Free Football Camp and Exhibition Match at the Astro Turf Ground in Tuensang on 25th and 26th September 2023, DIPR informed.

Thungchanbemo Tungoe, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Tuensang, addressed the participants during the camp, urging all eligible individuals who have reached the age of 18 to register themselves as voters and exercise their fundamental right to vote in elections. He emphasized that the free Football Camp was organized under the SVEEP Campaign with its primary objective being to raise awareness among the youth and educate them about the electoral process in the state.

The event aimed to harness the enthusiasm for sports, particularly football, to deliver an essential message of civic duty and active participation in the democratic process. Through the medium of sports, the organizers successfully engaged the youth and imparted knowledge about the significance of voting in a democracy.

The program was chaired by Tsitingse Sangtam, while Noktsula delivered the vote of thanks.
