The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) visited Government High School (GHS) Seyochung Village as part of their regular monthly visit, informed the Union in a press release.

During the visit, the school faculty shared their concerns where it was found that the Government Primary School (GPS), Government Middle School (GMS), and Government High School (GHS) have been combined into one with the school facing shortage of classrooms. “The three schools are located in different areas with quite a distance between them. Currently, all classes are being held at the Government Middle School, which is proving to be difficult due to limited space,” informed the SVSU.

The union also observed that despite regular visits, some teachers has been absent from the school. Union President Longtili C Sangtam warned that strict action will be taken if the situation persists. He stated that the union will report the teachers’ attendance to higher authorities and take further steps based on their response.

The union, however, expressed gratitude to the teachers who are regularly performing their duties despite the lack of proper facilities.
