The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) from Kiphire district has formally approached the Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland, requesting support under the Social Assistance Programme to upgrade the existing Village Library.
In a letter to DGP Nagaland, SVSU president, Longtili C Sangtam and general secretary, Tsise stated that the village library has been serving as a learning space for students and youths of the village. The Union said due to limited resources, the library requires improvement and modernization.
The Union proposed to strengthen the existing facility by adding new books and by introducing digital learning materials such as computers, educational software, and e-learning resources.

It further stated that introduction of digital materials would help students gain access to updated knowledge online access in remote area, besides an improved library would act as a centre for learning, discipline and positive engagement, guiding young people towards constructive and responsible paths.
The SVSU believed that support from the DGP would greatly contribute to educational development and youth empowerment in the region.
