The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) has expressed deep concern over the transfer of Ravindra Pratap Singh, Graduate Teacher (Maths), from Government High School (GHS) Seyochung to GMS Kiphire Village.

In a letter to the District Education Officer (DEO) Kiphire, the SVSU stated that Singh is the only Maths teacher at GHS Seyochung and his transfer would leave students without a Maths teacher, affecting their education badly.

The Union highlighted that the school is already facing a shortage of teachers, especially in Maths and Science, and the transfer would be a significant setback for students, especially with the annual examination approaching.

The SVSU has repeatedly requested the department to appoint more teachers at GHS Seyochung, but no action has been taken so far. The Union has urged the DEO to revoke the transfer order and allow Singh to continue serving at GHS Seyochung until a qualified replacement is posted.
