Swachh Bharat Mission-U 2.0 event held in Kohima

Kohima: Creating awareness on waste management and segregation as a community emphasized during programmes

The Urban Development Department, Nagaland organised Information, Education & Communication (IEC) programmes on Source Segregation and single-use plastics in collaboration with PETROS, School of Performing arts held awareness programmes on dry waste and water recycle as part of Swachh Bharat Mission-U 2.0 at Kohima on 19th March 2024. The programmes were held at PHQ junction, High School Junction and Old NST Parking.

During the program Deputy Mission Director AMRUT Mission, Vizokholie Kesiyie said it is a country-wide campaign initiated by the government of India on 2nd October 2014 to eliminate open defecation and improve the management of solid waste and liquid waste.

He also emphasised on creating awareness amongst like-minded people, neighborhood and also practicing waste management and segregation as a community.
