Group G matches saw some big drama in the final two matches on Friday.
Serbia needing a win to stay in contention for a place in the round of 16, went behind and then made a comeback to lead Switzerland 2-1 for some time, during which they held second place in the points table and were proceeding to the next round had results stayed that way.

Switzerland had taken the lead in the 20th minute though a Shagiri strike which could not be dealt with by the Servbain keeper Savic.
However, it was not long before Serbia equalised through its striker Mitrovic before taking the lead through a Vlahovic goal in the 35th minute.
Breel Embolo scored his second goal of the world cup to equalise for Switzerland.
Remo Freuler made it 3-2 right after the half time.
Serbian players looked exhausted in the later half of the match and could not pose any real threat to the Swiss goal.

Switzerland, with a compact midfield, solid defence line and a well settled attack, continued its strong run in the World Cup as they enter the round of 16, where they will take on Switzerland.
In the other match, Brazil who are already into the round of 16, took on Cameroon who still has a slim chance to qualify for the round of 16.
A misfiring Brazil with 21 shots of goal and 7 shots on target could not overwhelm the Cameroon defence as they failed to score.
The match winner was scored by Aboubakar when he headed home a perfect cross from substitute Mbekelli in extra time.
Cameroon held on to the slender lead, as they became the first African nation to defeat Brazil in the World Cup.

Cameroon ended the tournament on four points and would have entered the round of 16 had Serbia held on to their lead and defeated Switzerland, which was not to be.
