Skylark and Team Fuzz registering wins at the 7th edition of the Master Shield Trophy on Tuesday. The cricket tourney, organized by the Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation (MDT20CF), is underway at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung

On Day 2, the first match of the day was played between KPEDEN and Skylark where the former won the toss and elected to bat first, putting Skylark to bowl. Nchumbemo and Nzanthung of KPDEN posted 29 and 26 runs each while Skylarks’ Nagaho and Merenti took out 3 and 2 wickets each ending the first inning with 115/9 in 20 overs.

In response, Skylarks’ Sedezhalie and Moakumzuk scored 41 and 35 each to help the side win the match by 6 wickets maintaining 117/4 in 16.4 overs. Skylarks’ Sedezhalie was awarded the Man of the Match title.

The second match of the day was played between Trebuchet and Team Fuzz. Trebuchet won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a target of 136 in 20 overs. Trebuchet’s Nehal posted 54 runs and Nripen put up 22 runs while Team Fuzz’s Raja and Santosh 2 wickets each.

Team Fuzz started off confidently with Hem Bahadur top-scoring 61 runs off 33 balls, including 6 sixes and 9 fours.

Trebuchet’s Nehal and Anoksangba took out 4 and 2 wickets respectively, but Team Fuzz reached the target of 137 runs in just 18 overs winning the match by 3 wickets.

Team Fuzz’s Hem Bahadur was awarded with Man of the Match title.
