In line with the 2024-25 guidelines issued by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) and Headquarters, DG NDRF, a Table Top Exercise was conducted on 13th November 2024 at DC’s Conference Hall, Dimapur. The exercise aimed to familiarize district officials and emergency responders with the necessary disaster response protocols and promote coordinated action.
Officials announced that a hands-on Mock Exercise would follow on 14th November 2024 at the Forest Department Residential Area in Dimapur, simulating a realistic emergency scenario. The Table Top Exercise included discussions led by resource persons on response strategies, communication plans, and inter-agency cooperation for handling potential disasters.
The scenario planned for the Mock Exercise involves a simulated earthquake occurring at 0900 hrs on 14th November 2024, with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter scale, where a residential building in the Forest Department Residential Area is severely affected. The NDRF will rescue the person trapped on the top floor, three injured on the ground floor, and another trapped in a ground-floor room during the exercise.
District Project Associate, DDMA Dimapur, Thejavizo Kehie conducted the Table Top Exercise meeting, while Deputy Commandant A. Bobol and his team from the 12th NDRF presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation on earthquake response strategies.
