TAFCFPOL holds sales day promoting sustainable aquaculture

In an event promoting sustainable livelihoods and local enterprise, the Tuli Area Fishery Cooperative Farmers Producer Organization Ltd. (TAFCFPOL) held a successful Sales Day on May 24, 2025, at Mokokchung Municipal Complex. Supported by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and implemented by the Community Educational Centre Society (CECS), the event showcased the power of collective action and local production, informed a press release by TAFCFPOL.

A total of 220 kilograms of fresh, chemical- free fish sourced directly from local fish farmers in Tuli area were sold at Rs. 300 per kilogram, drawing overwhelming support from the community. The fish, renowned for its quality and freshness, reflected the growing consumer demand for healthy, locally-sourced produce.

“This one day sale day is not just about selling fish it’s about celebrating local enterprise, sustainable farming and the strength of community,” said Limawapang Jamir, CEO, TAFCFPOL.

The Sales Day marked a key milestone in TAFCFPOL journey, highlighting the power of grassroots economic initiatives made possible through the support of institutions like NABARD and the dedication of local partners such as CECS.
