Tepzen Agro-Food & Farmtech (TAFFT) officially launched its new feed manufacturing plant at Tesophenyu under Tseminyu District on July 30. The facility was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, who graced the occasion as the special guest.

Speaking at the inauguration, DC Japheth Woch commended the TAFFT team for their courage and commitment in establishing the plant. He stated that starting a business requires not just finances but determination and the willingness to persevere through setbacks.

“Fearing failure is equal to accepting defeat,” he remarked, while encouraging young entrepreneurs to remain steadfast and focused on their goals.

The DC also observed that many in Nagaland tend to follow familiar business paths rather than exploring new opportunities. He called upon the public to be bold, take risks, and venture into farming and innovative business ideas.

Highlighting the use of locally sourced materials by the factory, he said local farmers could benefit by supplying produce to the plant. He emphasised the importance of community collaboration for growth and sustainability.

Dr Renabeni Tep, Managing Director of TAFFT, shared that her entrepreneurial journey began with a piggery farm and expanded into feed production in 2021. She informed that the project for the feed plant began in 2024 and was completed by the grace of God.

Dr Tep said Tepzen’s feed has gained a reputation for its quality and is now being distributed across different parts of the state.

She stated that TAFFT operates under four components—feed industry, a technology transfer/training centre (the first of its kind in Nagaland), low-cost model farms that train women and youth, and agro-food production. She added that the feed machines used are of international standards and the product has been certified with an A-grade. She assured that no growth promoters are used and health standards are strictly maintained. The unique blend of modern nutrition and traditional practices, she said, has also earned TAFFT an innovation award.

Chairman of Tesophenyu New, Shentheyi Kath, thanked the TAFFT team for choosing the district for the plant and remarked that the venture had brought recognition to the area. He encouraged citizens to support the initiative and contribute to the district’s development.
