The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) Dimapur branch disbursed zero interest loans to the 10 eligible beneficiaries on Thursday during a program on Uplifting Women Street Vendors held at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
tEA informed that the main objective of the program was to sensitize women regarding the various schemes and services for the upliftment of their businesses. The program also served as a medium to create an awareness on women’s physical well-being, it added.

In the event, Ganesh Sharma, Superintendent of Dimapur Municipal Council, spoke briefly on the various schemes and services available for women street vendors. He elaborated on Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and how to avail these schemes. Sharma further encouraged the women participants to become entrepreneurs and become financially independent.
Sekulu Nyekha, Head of Feminist Futures India highlighted upon the menstrual health and hygiene of women. She put forward various personal narratives and research studies, proving how, despite our society being modern, still hush away from the topic of menstrual health.
tEA further mentioned that a noteworthy segment of the program was the words of encouragement by Temjenlemla Phom, an active beneficiary of tEA, who shared her positive experience with tEA and encouraging other participants to get connected with the association in the days to come.
Earlier, the invocation prayer was said by Thejalou Demo, Youth Pastor Associate, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Dimapur. The program was chaired by Krishna Priya, Research & Development Associate, tEA.
The significance of the Uplifting women Street Vendors and tEA Services was given by Chubatemjen Longkumer, Content Writer, tEA and the program concluded with a vote of thanks by Pao Haolai, Assistant Branch Supervisor, tEA.
