The first edition of Astro-Turf Futsal Tournament 2025, organized in aid of a fundraising initiative, was held at Neikeak Turf in Tammong village under Mon district from June 12-14.

The event was organized by the Shantham Ward Youth, Mon Town, and witnessed the participation of 42 teams.

The champions, team Proper V walked away a cash prize of Rs.30,000 and the runner-up team Vikings was awarded with Rs.15,000. The tournament showcased high levels of sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit, making it a memorable and vibrant occasion for all involved.

NSCB Mon senior manager W Chemkai Konyak and Shantham Ward Union Mon Town president K Wangtai Konyak graced the event as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. They offered their encouragement to the players.

Tournament organisers extended special thanks to Neikeak Turf for providing the venue and supporting the vision of promoting sports in the community. Acknowledgements were also made to the various organizations, sponsors, advisors, match officials, and volunteers, whose collective efforts ensured the smooth running of the tournament.

Sports secretary Monpai N Konyak thanked all the contributors and emphasized that the tournament was more than a competition, stating that it was a celebration of unity, talent, and community spirit through sport.
