Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, MLA Temjenmenba inaugurated the newly constructed community building at Chungliyimsen village under 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency on August 23 in the presence of the Chungliyimsen citizens and a host of NDPP party leaders who accompanied the legislator for the inaugural programme.
The new building which will serve as office-cum-guest house and christened “Odangba Memorial Ki” holds deep meaning for the MLA as the building was constructed with funds from the LADP.
“Today is a day of deep significance, not only for me and my family, but for the entire Chungliyimsen community and all who cherish the history of our faith. We stand here to dedicate the Odangba
Memorial—a lasting tribute to Late Odangba, the first Pastor of Chungliyimsen Baptist Church (1903-
1905), who also happens to be my great grandfather,” said MLA Temjenmenba.
He portrayed Odangba as a simple man who had unwavering faith and stood steadfast as a shepherd to the people leading with humility, compassion and conviction.
Saying that Pastor Odangba nurtured and laid down a foundation of faith that continues to guide even today, Temjenmenba asserted that the memorial hall is not merely a structure of stone and brick, but a symbol of Pastor Ondangba’s enduring legacy reminding the people of his sacrifices, vision and his obedience to God’s calling.
