The inaugural programme of the newly recognised Tening Namsan village was held on 9 January with Advisor for Water Resources, Namri Nchang, as the chief guest.
Namri Nchang, in his short speech, advised the elders and the council members of Tening Namsan to work hand in hand with the administration and other government functionaries to witness more development activities even in the coming days. He also thanked the Nagaland Government led by the Chief Minister for achieving the long-awaited dream of the people of Tening Namsan village.
Nchang called on the citizens of the newly recognised village to live in peace.
Earlier, the Advisor, upon his arrival, unveiled the monolith which was followed by traditional howling.
The others who spoke at the inaugural programme included Ex-Chairman, TVC, Namkiabui; Secretary, Tening Namsan, Kainia. EAC Nsong, Yimkum I Ozukum; and Superintending Engineer (Agri), Er Achakbo Newmai.
The other highlights of the programme were a cultural dance by THYO and a special presentation by Winangthone.
The programme was chaired by Chairman Tening Namsan, Ramga, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Chairman, Tening Village Council, Pelenkeng.
