Tenyimia Peoples’ Organisation assures Manipur CM on restriction of any developmental work or destruction of flora and fauna at disputed Kezoltsa

In a letter of assurance written to the Chief Minister of Manipur, the Tenyimia Peoples’ Organisation (TPO) assured that following the removal of the Manipur Armed Forces, it will not allow any developmental work, destruction and foraging of forest produce and flora and fauna from the disputed area of Kezoltsa.

The letter which was issued on March 9 by Timikha Koza, TPO President and Kathu Rengma, General Secretary TPO mentioned, “in the event of removal of Manipur Armed Forces from the disputed area (Kezoltsa/ Koziirii/ Kazing) we assure you that no one shall be allowed to:

  1. Do any developmental work
  2. Destroy the forest-Flora & fauna
  3. Collect forest produce
  4. Do hunting or fishing

  1. Construct road to the above forest and the existing road (s) also shall be cut-off. (a copy of Undertaking signed on 28/11/2017 by the contending parties is enclosed herewith for ready reference).”

The TPO further earnestly requested the Manipur Government to do the needful at an early date.
