Tenysinlo Bukh elected as new ANCSU President: ANCSU 21st Biennial General Conference conclude

The 21st Biennial General Conference of the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) concluded on October 25 with Tenysinlo Bukh elected as new ANCSU President, Kivika Achumi as Vice President, Aronthung M. Lotha as General Secretary.

Held at Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, Medovi Rhi, President Naga Students’ Federation (NSF graced the concluding session as the Valedictory Guest.

Bringing attention to the prevailing concerns and challenges in today’s society, NSF President Rhi reminded the students of the difficulties that they will encounter as they transition out of college and into the real world. Rhi called out the deeply-rooted ecosystem of corruption and bias within the government and social settings, which not only hinders progress but also diminishes the moral values of the people. While highlighting the concept of equality that the students may have encountered in college, Rhi said, “Unfortunately in reality, some individuals are more equal than others.” The President strongly urged the students to refrain from using forged documents to obtain scholarships and emphasized the importance of only availing benefits entitled to them and also refrain from availaing benefits from the BPL card holder if not entitled. Additionally, Rhi requested that they stay informed about the funds allocated to their villages for development projects and encouraged them to make positive changes, no matter how small or insignificant.

Introduction of New office Bearers

The new team of the tenure 2023-25 will be led by Tenysinlo Bukh as President, H. Kivika Achumi as Vice President, Aronthung M. Lotha as General Secretary, Kivinok A. Sema as Assistant General Secretary, Ikato Zhimomi as Finance Secretary, Tokuho Jakhalu as Education Secretary, Kivika Yeptho as Publicity & Information, Aloka Yeptho as Magazine Secretary, Imnawapang T. Longkumer as Social & Cultural Secretary, Ikato Zhimo as Games & Sports Secretary, Duve Tetseo as Asst.Games & Sports Secretary, Dzuzuve Swuro as Speaker, Akhavi Awomi as Deputy Speaker, Inak Achumi as Assembly Secretary and Rendemo C. Tsanglao as Auditor General.

The outgoing ANCSU President Toito D Chishi in his speech expressed gratitude to the seniors of ANCSU, executive members who has tirelessly contributed their effort which has made it possible for him to complete his tenure successfully. Chishi acknowledged the leadership of Katho P. Awomi and Vimeyiekho Vitso, who strengthened his knowledge during his tenure.

Chishi also advised the students to understand ANCSU when they say “it is not possible” because there are some issues which is beyond their capacity and urged the students to remember this even in the days to come.

The newly elected president, Tenysinlo Bukh in his speech extended his sincere gratitude to the electoral colleges for contributing, supporting and electing him as the president of tenure 2023-2025. “As our generation is in involve in various aspect of phenomenal changes, we are also borne with multi responsibilities individually and collectively,” stated Bukh who urged the college fraternity to be excellent participants in any field they want to pursue.

Acknowledging the contribution and support received, Bukh mentioned that it has encouraged and motivated him to again reshape himself in order to take ahead the office of ANCSU.

Rev. O. Thungben Kikon, Pastor Wokha Village offered a special prayer for the tenure of 2023-25.

At event, Phek Government College presented a special number and words of gratitude was proposed by the Tribunal Member, ANCSU Vimeyiekho Vitso. Pranabananda Women’s College was also awarded the “Best Discipline College” at the conference. The session was chaired by Pithungo Shitio Tribunal, ANSCU.
