The swift actions of the Territorial Army Battalion prevented a train accident in Noney district in Manipur on Tuesday.

According to the PRO and Spokesperson for Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, Ministry of Defence, the Territorial Army patrol deployed along Jiribam to Khongsang railway line noticed that the crushed stones that supports the rain tracks had been washed away by heavy rainfall, posing significant risk of track instability and misalignment.

The soldiers immediately informed the Railway authorities who then flagged down a goods train, comprising of 21 wagons carrying rice and en-route to Khongsang station at Kambiron, thus averting a potentially catastrophic train accident.
