In what is being described as a “historic homecoming”, the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU/NSCN) has officially announced that the Ato Kilonser, Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN), Th Muivah will return to his native village of Somdal on October 22 after more than five decades.
According to the KTU/NSCN, the itinerary of the visit also include stops at Ukhrul and Senapati, marking a momentous journey for one of the most prominent figures in the Naga political movement.
The KTU/NSCN said Th Muivah, who has dedicated his life to the cause of Nagalim, is credited with shaping the movement’s course and championing the recognition of the Naga people’s unique history and identity.
Along with the late Isak Chishi Swu, Muivah played a pivotal role in achieving a defining milestone — the signing of the Framework Agreement between the Government of India and the NSCN on August 3, 2015, a moment etched in the annals of Naga history, it stated.
