Khedi Baptist Kehou Kohima Village is celebrating ‘Kethezie Nyi’ or Thanksgiving Festival on the 12 and 13 November.
Speaking to Nagaland Tribune, Pastor of Khedi Baptist Kehou, Dr Ruokuovilie Sachü said the two-day Thanksgiving programme has been organised to remember God’s bountiful blessings in every field be it education, agriculture, business, health, etc. He said that as Christians, we are bound to live with gratitude for God’s blessings on a daily basis.
The first Thanksgiving service was held on Saturday morning where men, women and children in Kewhimia traditional attire carried God-given abundant harvests in traditional baskets to the stage in a procession and offered them in gratitude. The offerings included baskets of paddy rice, vegetables, and fruits. The congregation later joined the procession with their offerings.
The service was followed by a Thanksgiving feast that was arranged by the church.
Vipralhou Kesiezie, Chairman of the Church Board said it is important for every Christian, young and old, to give thanks to God for his blessings. It is also important to share God’s blessings for which a common fellowship and feast has been organised, he added.
He also said it is because of the God’s grace and providence that we have received so many blessings for which we need to be continually thankful to God.

Sharing his thoughts, church elder Dziesevilie Kesiezie said that Khedi Baptist Church is a mature church and over the years, God has blessed it and its members abundantly. He added that to receive blessings is one thing and to use God’s blessings properly is very important.
On Saturday evening, a ‘Tsali kehou’ or Musical Service is scheduled for 5pm. The Sunday morning worship service will be conducted at the usual time of 10am where Dr Ruokuovilie Sachü, Pastor, will impart God’s message.
‘U Chü Kesa Lakelie Kehou’ or Renewal Service, at 3pm on Sunday, will be the last service of the Thanksgiving Festival.
The services will be streamed on the Khedi Church YouTube channel.
