The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) conducted trainings in Ruzazho and Pholami Village of Phek District where women street vendors were guided on financial and digital literacy. The trainings were held as part of tEA’s endeavour to train 4500 women vendors on digital literacy in 2023.
tEA, with support with its partner Capri Loans, provided specialised inputs to the women vendors under ‘SAIL – Specialised Accelerated Intensive Learning’, an inhouse curriculum of tEA. The women were also trained on improving their budgeting skills for maintaining better records, financial planning, and business development, informed Neikule Doulo, Executive Director, The Entrepreneurs Associates.
Ruzazho Village
124 women vendors attended the meeting held at the Panchayat Hall, Ruzazho village, the press release from tEA stated. The event commenced with a welcome note from Kuvekhwulu Swuro, Community Mobilizer at tEA and T Vepratsolu Swuro, Women Pastor, Ruzazho Baptist Church delivered the invocation.
Kuzote Kepfoh, Project Associate at tEA, introduced tEA and its services followed by short speeches delivered by Shoyipra Sapu, VCC, and Savopalu Shijoh, Women Society Vice President of Ruzazho village. SAIL training was conducted by Wekedu Lohe, Community Coordinator at tEA, followed by a vote of thanks from Vesakholu Veseu, Women Society Chairperson, Ruzazho village.
The working session was followed by a skills training, specifically of processing of tamarillos, led by Mhechieteu Tero, Skills Trainer at The Entrepreneurs Associates.

The program was well appreciated by the village leaders who thanked the tEA team for their service in empowering the women and they simultaneously encouraged the women to improve their skills through such learning opportunities for the betterment of their families and society. The Women Society Vice President also advocated for organic farming and discouraged the women from the use of chemicals and fertilizers thereby promoting sustainable practices.
Pholami Village
The program was attended by 57 women, engaged in regular vending of fruits and vegetables from Pholami Village. The program held at the Community Hall was chaired by Vekhonieyi Murao, Field Operator. A highlight of the activities undertaken by tEA was provided by Ciikhoyi Chiero, Zonal Lead, East Zone, tEA. The SAIL training was conducted by Atsulie Chirhah, Project Associate, The Entrepreneurs Associates.
The program at Pholami was also followed by a skills training on pickle making of tamarillo, green chillies, and lemon. Besides the women, tEA farmers who are engaged in the plantation of tamarillos supported by the Dharampal Satyapal CSR also participated in the training which was led by Khrucilu Soho, Community Mobilizer and Skill Trainer.
The Uplifting Women Street Vendors Program is a flagship program of The Entrepreneurs Associates and has so far trained, skilled, mentored and supported 7000 women vendors across Nagaland, Manipur and Assam. Since the inception of the program in 2017, tEA has been engaged in improving and innovating its services to serve the needs of these women engaged in bridging rural farms with urban markets. They form the only channel of ensuring ploughing back of incomes to last mile communities in our region and hence play a vital role in the local economy. The Entrepreneurs Associates having identified the significance of their role has been supporting them with zero interest roles, market linkages and regular mentorship services besides the ongoing trainings.
